These terms and conditions govern Encyclopædia Britannica Australia Limited performance relating to the sale and supply of goods to the customer. Encyclopædia Britannica Australia reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions from time to time by updating this text page; and the customer is bound by any such modifications or revisions.
The contract between Encyclopædia Britannica Australia and the customer comes into existence upon Encyclopædia Britannica Australia’s acceptance of the customer’s order, i.e. when payment has been received. Encyclopædia Britannica Australia is entitled to withdraw from contracts in the case of obvious typographical or arithmetical inaccuracies appearing on Encyclopædia Britannica Australia’s Web site. For the avoidance of doubt, all orders are subject to acceptance by Encyclopædia Britannica Australia.
The prices of the goods are those specified on Encyclopædia Britannica Australia’s Web site. There will be an additional charge for delivery. Orders are subject to availability. In the unlikely event that the goods are unavailable, the customer will be notified by Email. Price and availability information is subject to change without notice.
Encyclopædia Britannica Australia will deliver the goods ordered to the delivery address supplied by the customer. Availability permitting, all orders paid for by credit card and with the delivery address in the Australia will be delivered within 10 to 15 days, other delivery destinations may take longer. Orders paid for by cheque are subject to clearance by the respective banks and are then despatched in the same way. Encyclopædia Britannica Australia is entitled to deliver in part. Despatch of goods constitutes fulfilment of contract. Note your shipment may be subject to import duties and taxes of the country to which you have your order shipped. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information.
If the goods delivered are not what the customer ordered, or are of incorrect quantity, or are defective, Encyclopædia Britannica Australia will, if the customer returns them within a reasonable period, at the customer’s option either give a full refund or where possible make good any shortage or non-delivery or replace any defective goods.
If the customer is returning goods for an exchange or refund they must notify Encyclopædia Britannica Australia within 7 days of delivery receipt by the customer. Enquiries regarding returns should be emailed to support@eb.com.au
You will be given an authorisation code which must be clearly stated on the returned item/s. All returns must be authorised to ensure that your replacement or refund is processed as agreed. Returned products must be received by Encyclopædia Britannica Australia in original packaging and in new condition, including any promotional items that may have been included in your purchase. A note explaining the reason for return should also be enclosed with the authorisations code. The customer bears the cost of returning goods for refund or exchange, except in cases of faulty, damaged or wrongly supplied goods. (Encyclopædia Britannica Australia requests that you use registered post or recorded delivery when returning goods and that proof of postage is retained).
Contracts between Encyclopædia Britannica Australia and the customer will be governed by the laws of the New South Wales, Australia.
